I knew Veronica Webb long before I ever met her.
Her name was always synonymous with beauty and glamour, and when I was a teen, the walls of my bedroom were covered with fashion pictures of her and other supermodels like Karen Alexander, Gail O'Neill, and Yasmeen Ghauri. So you can only imagine my excitement when, many years later, in the early 2000s, I first met her—and, eventually, my total disbelief when we actually became friends. V (as I like to call her) is a girl's girl. She is exceedingly funny, warm, and oh so stylish. (Can you imagine how lucky her daughters are to have access to her closets, full of vintage Versace, Alaïa, and Chanel?) She still loves fashion and beauty and is as glamorous now as she was decades ago, when she was a face and a dream on my wall. Here, my V shares some of her favorite addresses: |

1. Webb wearing an orange ribbed tank from GapStudio 2. Designer vintage bags 3. Bi-Rite ice cream 4. Claridge's slippers 5. Jewelry from Yafa 6. Violet Grey perfume. 7. Hyperwear vest 8. Lingerie from A.W. Kaufman's. |
After four decades on catwalks and the last few years ricocheting between continents, I've turned my model's eye (and appetite) to life's finer details. Think of this as my cheat sheet from a career spent living out of suitcases but never settling for less than couture-worthy discoveries. Call it culinarily curious, couture driven, and just a little model-off-duty mischief. Farm-to-Cone Ice Cream Bi-Rite Creamery (multiple locations) makes ice cream the way we wish all indulgences were made: hyperlocal, seasonal, and organic. Try the roasted banana (comfort food disguised as sophistication) or the devilishly clever basil. Both are drop-dead delicious.
Vintage Lace & Lingerie A.W. Kaufman's (73 Orchard St., New York, NY) is like slipping into a genie's lamp: tiny, magical, and packed with lacy treasures. Expect 1920s slips, '70s YSL, and the kind of '90s Dior that makes you sigh out loud.
High Jewelry That Dazzles Yafa (234 Worth Ave., Palm Beach, FL) in Palm Beach serves serious sparkle—pieces that dazzle the eye and boggle the mind. Consider this the couture equivalent of fairy dust.
Swimwear, Made in the USA Sauvage Miami is the mother-daughter design duo helmed label that is creating swimwear with incredible quality, sexy cuts, and saturated, irresistible colors. A California dream with Miami attitude.
Handmade Candy Myzel's (140 West 55th St., New York, NY) is NYC's golden ticket for mind-blowing confections. Kamila Myzel keeps her late mother Lucy's recipes alive, including cookies, over 100 varieties of licorice, and salted caramels. Whatever you decide, you'll get high on the fumes while you're waiting in line for a chance to take some home.
Cashmere Socks in Paris Crimson Cashmere (8 Rue Marbeuf, Paris) makes socks so chic, they literally knock your socks off. Add in Parisian quality and delightfully snobby service—what could be more French?
Hotel Slippers Worth Stealing Claridge's London (Brook St., London) stocks the only disposable slippers worth slipping into your carry-on. Even in first class, airline slippers are flimsy, but these five-star soles remind you the best is yet to come.
Smartest Compounding Pharmacy The Chemist Shop (30-15 38th Ave., Long Island City, NY) is the state-of-the-art, fully accredited compounding pharmacy for HRT and GLP-1s. Think white-glove service delivered straight to your door.
Rare Runway Resale Le Dressing Monaco (1 Rue Princesse Florestine, Monaco), run by my fellow '90s runway sister Helen Rimsberg, is where unicorn fashion goes to be found again. You can find one-of-a-kind Chanel or that Galliano Dior you swore was gone forever.
Best All-Around Tank Top GapStudio Collection by Zac Posen nails the elusive holy grail of tanks: exquisite cut, fabulous fabric, and a weight that's substantial enough for a Dior Bar jacket but sturdy enough for the gym.
Beauty Fantasyland Violet Grey in L.A. or New York is where beauty junkies go to dream. Future-forward products, decadently curated shelves, and insider intel make it fantasy shopping made real. I died and went to heaven and came back to tell the tale after I smelled Madame Grey's new perfume.
- Weighted Vest, for Real Life
Hyperwear's vest is as chic as resistance training gets. My physical therapist told me to add 10 to 15 percent of my body weight into daily activity, and this vest is perfectly balanced to challenge your core without punishing your spine. Plus, you'll need it after all that Bi-Rite ice cream.
These are the treasures that make a life well-traveled feel even richer. For more of my finds and philosophies, join me on my Substack column Haute Mess—"Championing health and wellness for women who want both the facts and the fun"—and come say hello on Instagram @veronicawebb.

The most special, fun, and delicious restaurant is about to open in the West Village. Wild Cherry is the latest from the team behind Frenchette, Le Rock, and Uptown's Le Veau D'or. (Shout out to my brother, Riad, my brother from another mother Lee Hanson, Chef Jeff, Sarah, Cali, Jorge and the entire team.) The restaurant is set to open in the coming weeks inside the iconic Cherry Lane Theater, which was recently taken over by the geniuses at A24. No, you don't need to be attending a show to go for dinner, and, yes, you will find me at the bar on most nights. We christened the place with our Icons dinner this past week, and I am here to tell you that the food is delicious and the space is intimate and cozy. See you there!!! |

Okay, so this is the part of the newsletter that I usually dedicate to something I have obsessed over and purchased for myself, but—PLOT TWIST—this week I am sharing something I am obsessing over, and I mean OBSESSING, but have yet to purchase. Give it a week or so and I will take the plunge. BUT hear me out. We love a trench. Yes, we love a trench. And we love a bomber. But what about a trench-weight bomber hybrid? Are you as obsessed as I am yet?
It all started when I saw the images from Phoebe Philo's latest offering and spied the perfect version. I instantly wondered why I didn't already own this classic jacket. I imagine it would be as perfect with jeans as it would with a nice pair of trousers or my other new obsession: a midi-length skirt. I have found four versions to share with you here. |
Here, some of my current favorites. Happy shopping!! |
